. The IDC has been designed with, at minimum,
N+1 redundancy principles applied. This means
that in the event of failure of power, air conditioning
or telecommunications, the resulting load on
backup systems is managed with no reduction
in performance levels.

for smoke, fire and water detection, electrical
and air conditioning performance
. Dual power feeds from Energy Australia with
substation on site
. Separate transformers and mains switchboards
. Multiple generators
. Multiple UPS systems with battery backup
. Multiple power management modules
. Two high-capacity diesel fuel tanks
. Multiple air conditioning units
. Redundant Internet connections with automatic
failover
. Unlike many other facilities of this kind,
the IDC is carrier-independent, with connections
from four carriers: Optus, PowerTel, Uecomm
and Telstra. High-bandwidth Internet access
is a feature of the facility.
